We will stand a flag line at the DFW National Cemetery for the interment service.

Obituary:

Rodell Smith was born December 18, 1944 in Hallsville, Texas. He was the son of Woodrow and Inicie LaGrone Smith. He passed away at his home on April 28, 2011. Rodell was a Vietnam Veteran. He served in the United States Army. Left to mourn Rodell's passing are his son, Steve Smith of Fort Worth, Texas; five brothers, Bobby Joe Smith of Longview, Texas, Perry Smith, Windell Smith, Lawrence Smith and Clifford Smith, all of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Debra Smith, Jacquelyn Smith and Sheila Smith, all of Fort Worth, Texas, by one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00pm Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the Chapel of Meadowbrook Funeral Home.
Interment will be at 11:30am Monday, May 9, 2011 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

Details Of Part 1:

We will stage at the information center at 10:15 AM. At 10:30 AM a briefing for both the SFC Vita and Sgt. Smith missions will be given. (See SFC Vita's Final Itinerary posted on the NTX PGR Calendar) SFC Vita's interment service is scheduled for 11:00 AM and Sgt. Smith's interment service has been scheduled immediately following at 11:30 AM. Both services will be held at Shelter C. At the conclusion of SFC Vita's service, big flag bikes will return to the information center (Lane C) in order to escort the Sgt. Smith procession to Shelter C for his interment service.

- Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated.

- Safety First: Please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also please do not forget your sun screen.

- Please remember that our mission is to stand tall and silent, and with honor and respect for this patriot and their family.

- We will park along the main street close to the designated shelter with 2 bikes side by side as close to the curb and each other as possible so that traffic can get by.

Let's always remember to keep the motorcycle and voice noise to a minimum when arriving and leaving the shelters.
